VAS LICENCE AND RELATED SERVICES
The National Communications Commission (NCC) has identified specific categories of services that are considered Value Added Services (VAS). These include information services and content, such as news updates, games and ringtones, as well as interactive services and applications like online polls, surveys and promotions. Additionally, VAS may pertain to commerce-related activities including mobile banking, e-ticketing and telemarketing. It's important to note that these designations have been carefully defined by the NCC. It is important to highlight that the NCC has explicitly stated that their VAS license framework does not currently apply to mobile banking services. This is due to the fact that such services are under the direct licensing of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
